Vancouver Washington located on the north shore of the Columbia River is the second largest city in population in Washington State. However it is better known as part of the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area. Many of Vancouver’s residents work in Portland but prefer living in Vancouver because of the State of Washington’s lack of a state income tax.
